The Story
Synopsis
Ava is a single mother who grapples with the painful separation from her husband Isaac. When Ava travels across the state with her daughter Stacia for a 24-hour family visit, she intends to inform Isaac of a recent discovery – she’s pregnant with their second child.
Initially unbeknownst to our audience, Isaac is in fact incarcerated in a California State Prison. The clock ticks as Ava and Isaac spend the remaining hours of their final “touch visit.” The family visitation program that has held their tenuous relationship together — a privilege granted in only four states in America — is shutting down.
Their attempt at a brief respite of normalcy devolves into a heartbreaking argument. Despite their unconditional love, can this fragile family survive the unimaginable circumstances forcing them apart?
